Victoria House was opened in June 2003 as a purpose-built dementia-specific unit for 10 residents.
Designed as a non-institutional home, the 10-bed secure dementia unit has become a benchmark in design and functionality by the innovative ways that residents enjoy their independence and autonomy in a comfortable living environment that feels just like a home.
Resident rooms open into a living area where the kitchen, dining and lounge areas are the focus of the home. The secure grounds, with purpose-designed walking paths, allow residents to walk around the home at their leisure.
Our trained and experienced staff care for residents with dignity and respect, caring, assisting and encouraging residents to be as independent as possible and to maximise their full potential.
Entry into Victoria House is through normal entry criteria by using an application form.
Part of the holistic approach to our care is an emphasis on mobility and well being. Our full time physiotherapist works to ensure that, where possible, a resident is able to maximise their full mobility potential and enjoy life. Individual assessments are made for each resident to provide them with the maximum opportunity to remain physically healthy for as long as possible.
