We are so very proud of you all and the wonderful way you all accepted the “Lock Down” with such grace! It must have been very difficult for you to stay in you rooms for so long without any human contact (other than staff). One resident put it very well; she said “If we don’t get out of our rooms soon I’ll be CHAIR shaped.”
Sadly we had to cancel out Multicultural Month as most of the month was spent in your rooms, so may be it will have to be done next year. That’s scary, thinking of next year!
For those who haven’t been in the shops the Christmasdecorations are out in the shops ready to be bought.
It was good to see everyone enjoying the concert by Vintage Voice Choir, we will have to make sure we get them back again next year.
Even though it was a windy day we all enjoyed our fish and chips down by the water at Labrador and a drive looking at the Gold Coast high rises.

ASIAN AID
We received a letter from Chaitanya saying, “I would like to thank you for your financial support towards my education. All these years of my stay in this school has really benefitted me.”
A warm welcome to our new residents. We hope you are settling in well to your new home. Please let us know if we can assist you in any way.
Operation Christmas Child
Our total so far this year is $1860. We still have a way to go to get to our target. Time is getting short so if you are able to help, speak to one of the DT’s or Judy.

Pony Express
At an American post office, a woman complained to the postal worker that in the old days, a Pony Express rider could get a letter from one town to another in just two days, but now it takes three. “I’d like to know why,” she scoffed. The postal worker thought about it for a moment, then his face brightened and he replied, “The horses are a lot older now?”

Management Update
Kerry Donovan our Care Manager has resigned from her position and will be leaving us on Wednesday 9th November. Kerry is leaving us to take up a position with the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency. During her time with us Kerry has faced numerous challenges but not without their rewards. Although not Adventist she has felt very much a part of the Adventist ‘family’ during the term of her employment. Although originally from the Acute sector she developed a passion for Aged Care and will continue this passion in her new role. She hopes not to be a stranger as she has developed a fondness for the Residents and Staff within the facility. She has felt privileged to be part of your lives, if only for a short time. She believes people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Although not physically present on a daily basis she is leaving us with lessons learnt and richer for the experience.
